The call came in at ten past two. Our on-call plumber was on site inside the hour, isolated the supply, and traced the split to a section of pipe buried in a stud wall between the two floors.
The section was cut out and replaced the same night, with the supply back on before 6am. We returned that week to make good, once the structure had dried properly rather than being closed up wet.
